This is a weekly meme hosted by Freda's Voice.
1. Grab a book, any book.
2. Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader.
3. Find any sentence (or a few, just don't spoil it) that grabs you.
4. Post it.
5. Add the URL to your post in the link on Freda's most Friday 56 post.
Strange Light Afar 56%:

"In heaven, she had been an immortal. Now, a life on earth with a man who cared for her perhaps was the best she could hope for."

  1. I love the cover and the excerpt! Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.

    Love your background here!

  2. That doesn't sound like a bad thing to hope for. I'm spotlighting Sweep in Peace by Ilona Andrews this week. Happy reading!

  3. An enchanting excerpt and book cover:)

    My 56 -

  4. Interesting cover and 56! Happy weekend!

  5. Love the new blog title.
    What genre is this book?

    1. Thanks!
It is old well known stories from Japan translated into more modern terminology. So maybe folk tale. Some were a bit scary since they were meant to teach a lesson but only one totally freaked me out, light horror as well perhaps.
