The One is the third book in The Selection series. Originally I thought the series was just three books and some novellas but it looks like it is five books. I may continue the series since I felt like The One did not answer all the questions I had.
America is finally willing to fight for Maxon and trying to decide the best way to do it. Scared to death to give her heart fully to a man dating three other girls America struggles to figure out Maxon's feelings while maintaining truth to who she is. If she will just bend to the will of the king and be obedient the king will accept her but she will be giving up who she really is in the process.
Since this was a harem story I expected lots of love triangles and girl drama. That is what I got. If you looking for a deep story with lots of world building, twists, turns, and character development The Selection series is not for you. I would consider it more of a guilty pleasure read without the adult scenes. Most likely I will continue the series.
